Canada’s Radio-television and Telecommunications Fee (CRTC) is eradicating the charges for altering or cancelling web and cellphone plans.
In an announcement posted on Thursday, the CRTC says it’s eliminating additional charges to activate, change or cancel a plan, giving customers extra flexibility to handle their plans and reap the benefits of higher provides with out the sudden additional prices.
This choice was made after the CRTC held a public session following current modifications to the Telecommunications Act, and heard that charges can forestall Canadians from switching plans.

“We’re taking motion to offer Canadians extra management over their Web and cellphone companies,” Vicky Eatrides, chairperson and chief govt officer of the CRTC, stated in an announcement.
