An alleged migrant smuggler has been charged after police say an officer was injured throughout an operation close to the Canada-U.S. border in Quebec.
The incident occurred after U.S. Border Patrol tipped off Canadian authorities that 5 folks had allegedly crossed the border illegally on Tuesday within the Noyan space of Montérégie, in response to an RCMP information launch.

An officer with the Champlain detachment’s Built-in Border Enforcement Group intercepted the car through which the migrants had been reportedly travelling.
The motive force allegedly did not cease and intentionally rammed the door of a police car, injuring the officer, earlier than fleeing the scene, police mentioned.
A 25-year-old man was later arrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer, harmful operation, failing to cease after an accident.
