The 2026-27 Montreal Canadiens season was announced Thursday, and for the first time since 1993-94, the NHL regular season will feature 84 games.
In addition to the slightly longer regular season, the NHL season will also feature fewer games. The Habs announced their preseason schedule near the end of June.
The expanded season also means that all teams will play all of their divisional opponents four times over the course of the year.
Wednesday, the NHL announced that the Canadiens would open their season in Toronto on Sept. 29.
Prior to the actual reveal of the season schedule, the Canadiens posted a video to social media of Jake Evans trying to trick his teammates by showing them the 1992-93 schedule.
