Suspect to appear in court Friday after woman found dead in Saint-Michel

The partner of a woman who was killed in Montreal’s Saint-Michel neighbourhood on Monday – in what police say is the 13th suspected femicide in the city this year – has been arrested.

Montreal police arrested the man in hospital. He is expected to appear in court Friday.

Officers were called to a home on 39th Street, near the intersection of Paul-Corbeil Street, around 2:25 p.m. on Monday.

Once on the scene, they found a woman in her 40s and a man in his 30s, both seriously injured by what appeared to be a sharp object.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was taken to a hospital.

Police confirmed the victim and suspect were in a relationship.
