Worker trimming trees in Ahuntsic dies in accident

A worker who was trimming trees has died following a workplace accident Tuesday morning in Montreal’s Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough.

The worker was found seriously injured inside the bucket of a lift after reportedly getting electrocuted.

Montreal police tell CityNews that emergency services were called to Francis Street around 10:25 a.m.

Firefighters responded and brought the worker down from the lift, where CPR was performed before the victim was taken to hospital.

Police say the CNESST, Quebec’s workplace health and safety commission, is taking charge of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
