A 29-year-old man has died after being seriously injured in an apartment in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood, in what police say is the city’s 18th homicide of the year.
Montreal police (SPVM) says officers were called Saturday to an apartment on Dupuis Avenue, where they found the man suffering from injuries to his upper body caused by an edged weapon.
He was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.
Police say a 49-year-old man was arrested at the scene and later released. He remains a witness in the investigation.
The case has been transferred to the Montreal police Major Crimes Unit.
