A railway worker was fatally struck by a train Saturday in Montreal.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the tragedy around 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning, near Lorimier Ave. and Notre-Dame Street, in the Ville-Marie borough.
“According to initial reports, it appears to be a railway employee who was working on the tracks when a train started moving. The Collision Investigation Unit (of the SPVM) is trying to determine the circumstances surrounding this event,” said Constable Manuel Couture, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).
The victim’s identity was not immediately revealed.
The SPVM investigation is ongoing.
