CUPE 301 blue-collar workers with the City of Montreal remain at the bargaining table as the two sides face a midnight deadline to reach an agreement and avert a strike.
In a written statement, the union said it is committed to continuing negotiations until the last possible moment in an effort to reach a settlement.
Separately, CUPE 301 blue-collar workers employed by the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau have voted to strike Monday, Sept. 21.
The employer is challenging the workers’ legal right to strike.
The union is making representations before the Quebec labour tribunal to have that right upheld and allow the workers to proceed with the planned strike Monday.
The union said further information will be provided as both processes unfold.
