Man, 42, hospitalized after workplace stabbing in St-Leonard, coworker arrested

A 42-year-old man was hospitalized after he was allegedly stabbed by a coworker at an auto parts distribution company in the St-Leonard borough Thursday morning.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 8:20 a.m. reporting that a man was injured inside an industrial building located on Grandes-Prairies Boulevard near the intersection of Viau Boulevard.

Upon arrival, patrol officers found the victim with serious upper body injuries. He was conscious while he was taken to hospital.

“According to initial reports, a conflict between two individuals broke out and the victim was injured seriously during the altercation,” SPVM spokesperson Florence Stafford said.

The suspect, a 31-year-old man, was arrested at the scene. He reportedly has minor injuries.

He is expected to be interviewed by investigators.

The investigation is ongoing.
