Man injured in armed assault near Jean-Talon metro station

A man in his 30s was injured by a sharp object Sunday night near the Jean-Talon metro station in Montreal’s Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough.

Montreal police say the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the Villeray area.

Upon arriving at the scene, police located the victim near the intersection of Saint-Hubert Street and Jean-Talon East.

He was conscious and had an upper-body injury.

The man was taken to a hospital. Authorities are still awaiting an update on his condition.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unknown.

Investigators will also review surveillance camera footage to try to learn more about what happened.

The investigation is ongoing.
