Frost warning issued for parts of western Quebec as temperatures dip

Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for parts of western Quebec, warning that temperatures could fall to near or below freezing overnight. The advisory warns of a risk of frost damage to plants, trees and crops.

Quebec is in for a brief stretch of sunshine Tuesday before clouds and showers return to the forecast later in the week.

Tuesday will be mainly sunny, with west winds at 20 km/h and gusts reaching 40 km/h. The high is expected to reach 13 Celsius, with a moderate UV index of 3.

Skies will turn partly cloudy Tuesday night as winds ease, with temperatures dropping to around 5 C.

Wednesday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, along with a 30 per cent chance of showers. Winds will shift to the south at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h, as temperatures climb to a high of 18 C.

The unsettled weather will continue Wednesday night, with cloudy skies and a 60 per cent chance of showers. The overnight low will be 12 C.

Thursday is expected to remain cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 15 C. Another 40 per cent chance of showers is forecast Thursday night, with temperatures falling to around 7 C.

Friday will bring more clouds and a 60 per cent chance of showers, with a high of 14 C. The chance of rain continues overnight, when temperatures could drop to around 3 C.

Conditions are expected to improve for the weekend. Saturday will be sunny with a high of 12 C and clear skies overnight, with a low of 6 C.

Sunday could bring a warmer day, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 19 C. Monday will remain mild, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 18 C.
