Cleanup remains to be underway at On Rock Group Providers, after flooding brought on by a drain difficulty left elements of the warehouse underwater earlier this week.
The flooding began Monday night and continued into Tuesday, earlier than the difficulty was mounted.
Workers and volunteers jumped into motion, working to clear the water, all whereas ensuring providers continued.
“It’s as a result of they want it,” stated Bernard Bonsra, On Rock operations supervisor. “Our precedence is at all times the shopper — their satisfaction and the way blissful they’re, too.”
By Thursday, operations are largely again to regular.

However employees say the flooding highlights one other ongoing problem — the meals financial institution continues to see demand rise, at a time when donations are at a file low.
“Donations are actually low proper now,” stated Kayla Reid, On Rock’s govt director. “We’re seeing it go away our cabinets quicker than we’re seeing it come by the door, and that’s after we know there’s an issue.”
The group says its donation bins have been emptier than normal just lately, whereas extra households proceed turning to them for assist.
They’re encouraging residents to donate no matter meals they will — together with at two new drop-off places within the West Island.
“We notice that On Rock, for some folks, is a bit of far, a bit of out of the best way,” stated Reid. “So now we have two extra central places that can be accumulating donations for us and that’s 3 Soeurs on St-Jean Boulevard, and Kiddo Lively Remedy within the Pointe-Claire Plaza.”
