16-year-old injured in Laval shooting; two suspects in custody

A 16-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Laval’s Saint-François district, near a local shopping centre.

According to Laval police, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 3:53 p.m. in the area of Montée du Moulin and Avenue Marcel-Villeneuve. The teenager was taken for medical treatment and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Police later arrested two people in connection with the shooting, a male youth and a 35-year-old woman.

The two suspects are scheduled to appear in court Thursday as investigators continue to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
