A third armed assault in less than 24 hours in downtown Montreal sent an 18-year-old man to the hospital early Sunday morning
Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls around 3:50 a.m. reporting that a man was stabbed near the intersection of Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Ontario Street.
When the police officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old man with injuries to his upper body and conscious..
He was taken to hospital to with injuries described as non-threatening to his life.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remained unclear on Sunday morning, according to SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.
Police officers interviewed witnesses and are expected to review surveillance camera footage from the area to try to better understand the incident.
The SPVM’s K-9 unit was deployed to search for evidence and advance the investigation.
No arrests have been made.
