30-year-old man dead after brawl near Mount Royal

A 30-year-old man died after being concerned in an altercation that occurred in a park on the foot of Mount Royal in Montreal.

The altercation came about round 5:10 p.m. on Sunday between a number of folks in a park situated close to the intersection of Avenue du Parc and Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine.

The sufferer sustained upper-body accidents from a pointy object. He was sadly pronounced useless on the hospital, defined Manuel Couture, spokesperson for Montreal police (SPVM).

A 58-year-old man was arrested close to the scene and shall be interviewed by investigators who will try to find out his involvement within the altercation.

The reason for the altercation remained unknown early Monday morning. The investigation has been handed over to the SPVM’s Main Crimes Unit.

That is the eighth murder to happen in Montreal in 2026, in response to Couture.
