Premier Christine Fréchette is criticizing the Quebec Conservatives (PCQ) for pledging to cut $47 billion from the province’s budget.
The pledge makes “no sense,” Fréchette said in a brief comment upon arriving at a press conference on Thursday.
She said she believes that such a move would amount to “dismantling” the province.
The premier is in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to present three candidates, including Stéphane Bisaillon, the first vice-president of the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) federation in the Montérégie region.
His candidacy, in Huntingdon, was confirmed on Thursday by the farmers’ union.
