Canadiens, Ducks make minor-league trade

The Montreal Canadiens and Anaheim Ducks have made a minor-league trade.

The Canadiens acquired forward Sasha Pastujov from the Ducks in exchange for forward Sean Farrell, the teams announced on Monday.

The deal is one-for-one.

Pastujov, who has yet to appear in an NHL game, played 71 games for the AHL’s San Diego Gulls in 2025-26, recording 21 goals and 36 assists.

The 23-year-old was drafted by the Ducks 66th overall in 2021.

Farrell, 24, last appeared in the NHL during the 2022-23 season, where he played six games with one goal.

For the AHL’s Laval Rocket in 2025-26, Farrell had 17 goals and 36 assists in 72 games.

He was selected 124th overall by the Canadiens at the 2020 Draft.
