OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney didn’t “proactively” elevate human rights or overseas interference with Chinese language President Xi Jinping throughout his Beijing go to in January, the federal government says.
The Privy Council Workplace, which serves the prime minister, says in a parliamentary tabling that “human rights and overseas interference weren’t introduced up proactively” by Carney when he met with Xi.
