Fire forces six families out of homes in Montreal’s Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie

Six families were forced to evacuate their homes after a two-alarm fire in Montreal’s Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough Friday night.

Firefighters responded to a fire in a three-storey building near Masson Street and Bouronniere Avenue, around 9:30 p.m.

The fire began in the laundromat on the ground floor of the building before spreading to the upper floors, according Martin Guilbault from the Montreal Fire Department.

About 60 firefighters responded to the incident. No injuries were reported.

Residents were evacuated. The Red Cross was on the scene helping to relocate households needing accommodation.
