Lionel Carmant, Quebec’s former minister of social companies, is rejoining the Coalition Avenir Québec celebration.
He made the announcement alongside Premier François Legault on Wednesday morning.
Carmant had introduced on social media that he would return to the CAQ caucus if Christine Fréchette is elected new chief of the celebration on April 12.
Nonetheless, on Wednesday, he mentioned he made the choice to return again earlier to indicate help for his buddy Premier Legault earlier than he leaves.
“After I left he was there for me and it’s necessary now for me to be there with him for his final week,” he informed reporters on the Nationwide Meeting.
“I’m very comfortable that my buddy Lionel is coming residence,” Legault added.
Carmant had been sitting as an independant since October after stepping down from the CAQ caucus following the celebration’s choice to go Invoice 2, laws imposing wage restrictions on docs. Carmant, his spouse and daughter are all docs.
Legault introduced his resignation in January.
