Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel closures planned in both directions this weekend

Transport Quebec announced that Highway 25, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, will be closed in both directions this Friday and Saturday nights.

The closure is necessary to perform maintenance work and repairs on the tunnel’s electrical and communications systems, the ministry said.

Highway 25 toward the South Shore will remain closed between Exit 5 (Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street) and Souligny Avenue until Monday, July 13, 5 a.m. This obstruction is required in order to set up a detour of Highway 25 toward the South Shore that will allow for completion work in the area.

Souligny Avenue westbound, between Honoré-Beaugrand and Dickson streets, will also be closed during the weekend of July 10. This obstruction is required for the waterproofing of the structures of the Souligny interchange.
