Man in custody after woman found injured in Côte-des-Neiges; police say possible domestic violence

A 54-year-old man is in custody in connection with a stabbing on Thursday morning.

Montreal police responded to the Côte-des-Neiges borough near Saint-Kevin Avenue and Legaré Street after receiving several calls regarding an injured woman.

When officers arrived at the scene, a 35-year-old woman was found with wounds believed to be caused by a sharp object. She was taken to hospital.

A 54-year-old man who is believed to be connected to the matter was found nearby and was taken into custody. He is expected to appear in court on Friday.

At this time, police are investigating the matter as intimate partner violence.
