Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating after a security agent at Montreal-Trudeau airport was struck by a vehicle Sunday.
According to SQ spokesperson Kim Cormier, emergency services were called around 3:30 p.m. reporting that a worker was knocked over by the vehicle while he was directing traffic.
Police say the victim, a man in his 40s, was hospitalized with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.
In a statement to CityNews, a spokesperson for Aéroports de Montréal Maxime Landry said the incident happened in the vicinity of the arrivals area.
“The closure of the access ramp resulted in significant congestion in the area,” Landry said. “Airport Patrol personnel were deployed to help facilitate passenger and visitor movements.”
Normal traffic flow resumed around 6:30 p.m. after a security perimeter set up SQ officers were lifted.
Cormier said the driver could face possible charges in connection with the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
