The Montreal police (SPVM) arson squad is investigating after a vehicle was torched and two others nearby were damaged in the Rivière-des-Prairies (RDP) borough late Thursday night.
SPVM received several 911 calls around 11:45 p.m. reporting a vehicle on fire near the intersection of Arthur-Léveillé Street and 5th Avenue.
Firefighters worked to control the flames as officers arrived on the scene.
The car that was allegedly set ablaze and an SUV nearby were destroyed, while a pickup truck sustained significant damage, according to SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

No incendiary object was found at the scene though and the circumstances surrounding the fire are still unknown.
The main vehicle was towed for analysis.
Investigators are also looking for possible surveillance camera footage nearby.
