Montreal police officer seriously injured in Saint-Michel

An individual was injured during an altercation with police Wednesday in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough of Montreal.

The Montreal Police Service was called to an apartment on 14th Avenue near Émile-Journault Avenue in the late afternoon to check on the health and safety of the occupants.

During the intervention, a police officer sustained significant but non-life-threatening injuries, possibly caused by a sharp object.

Another person was also reportedly seriously injured by a police officer.

A perimeter was established to secure the scene, and the Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI) was assigned to the investigation.
