The Native Girls’s Shelter of Montreal and POP Montreal is organizing a pageant to mark the Nationwide Indigenous Peoples Day Sunday.
The free occasion at Cabot Sq. will embrace stay music, conventional performances, Indigenous artisans and actions for households.
Organizers say, in case of rain, the occasion will likely be moved to Centre Sanaaq, situated close by.
The lineup options Indigenous artists and performers like The Good day Crows, Linda Saddleback & Willie Thrasher, Leonard Summer season, Kris Kinokewin, Manitou Singers, Sinquah Household Dance Troupe, Elder Ka’nahsohon Kevin Deer. Live shows start at 3 p.m.
Organizers say the occasion celebrates cultures, contributions, histories, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples and goals to create connections with the neighborhood.
“As Indigenous folks we proceed to push ahead by means of our many challenges however on June twenty first, we have a good time our cultural delight,” stated Na’kuset, the manager director of the Native Girls’s Shelter of Montreal.
