While former Desjardins CEO Guy Cormier has just joined the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC), Premier Paul St-Pierre Plamondon is bringing one of his right-hand people on board.
Isabelle Garon will oversee the homelessness summit and the education summit, two of the priorities outlined for the first 100 days of the new Parti Québécois government.
St-Pierre Plamondon made the announcement on social media Tuesday.
Garon was previously executive vice-president of marketing, communications, co-operation and the president’s office at Desjardins.
St-Pierre Plamondon also announced the appointment of Laurent Desbois as the premier’s economic adviser.
Desbois was responsible for foreign exchange risk management at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. He also worked for Merrill Lynch and the Bank of Canada, and served as vice-president of the City of Montreal’s Finance and Administration Commission.
