Group Canada was led by two gold-medal-winning speedskaters as flag-bearers on the Olympic closing ceremony in Verona, Italy on Sunday.
Males’s 500-metre short-track champion Steven Dubois of Laval, Quebec, and Valérie Maltais of Saguenay, Quebec, who gained three medals together with a workforce pursuit gold, carried the Canadian flag throughout a procession on the Verona Enviornment.
The total ceremony included performances from; musicians Gloria Campaner and Paolo Fresu; singers Achille Lauro, Joan Thiele; in addition to a duet by Margherita Vicario and Davide Shorty.
