Montreal Police (SPVM) arrested a teenager at École secondaire Georges-Vanier in Villeray on Tuesday morning.
SPVM say they received 911 calls regarding a teen in distress circulating with a knife at the high school around 9:50 a.m.
The teen was quickly taken into custody and no one was injured.
As a precautionary measure, some groups remained in their classrooms, while others were evacuated outside.
The student is not facing charges, but the investigation is ongoing to determine whether any threats were made.

The school sent a letter to parents saying that, “In the wake of this incident, the school’s crisis response resources have been mobilized and are available to students who may need them. They will also be supported by the crisis response team from the Centre de services scolaire de Montréal. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if your child has concerns and would like to discuss the situation. For additional support at any time, the 811 service remains a gateway to psychosocial support resources.”
“The safety of students and staff is our top priority, we have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of violence in our school community.”
They add that they are taking the situation seriously and remain vigilant to ensure the safety of students and staff at all times.
