Montreal police’s (SPVM) arson squad is investigating suspected arson of two businesses in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood early Saturday morning.
Police say a 911 call was received around 3:15 a.m. reporting a blaze near the intersection of Décarie Boulevard and Plamondon Avenue.
According to SPVM spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron, firefighters brought the flames under control after several hours.
The building reportedly housing Nöam, a kosher restaurant and another business sustained major damage.

Bergeron said someone was reportedly seen leaving the premises shortly after the fire began, prompting authorities to transfer the case to the SPVM arson squad.
Investigators were expected to examine the scene and review surveillance footage in an effort to identify the person. They will also speak to the restaurant owners about any possible threats were made.
