Six teens fleeing police crash Communauto into convenience store in Saint-Henri

Montreal police (SPVM) say six teens fleeing from a crime scene in a Communauto crashed into a dépanneur in Montreal’s Saint-Henri neighbourhood Thursday morning.

Officers were called around 10:15 a.m. for a “conflict involving several individuals,” including at least one person who was in possession of a knife, at the corner of De Courcelle and Dagenais streets.

When police arrived at the scene, the teens fled in a Communauto but did not make it far before crashing into the front of a dépanneur on De Courcelle at the corner of Palm Avenue.

The six suspects then tried to flee on foot and police managed to catch five of them. The sixth suspect remains at large.

One of the teens was transported to hospital with minor injuries sustained in the crash.

One worker was inside the dépanneur at the time of the crash, but was not injured.

The building sustained significant damage.

A portion of De Courcelle Street was completely closed to traffic while police investigated the incident and firefighters assessed the structural damage to the building hit by the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
