SPVM arrests 2 teens in thefts, frauds targeting seniors

Montreal police say two youngsters, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested in reference to a collection of thefts and frauds focusing on seniors.

The SPVM alleges the 2 suspects operated in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Montreal North, in addition to in Sherbrooke.

They have been arrested Feb. 19.

Montreal police say the scene concerned focusing on addresses the place seniors resided in an effort to enter and steal their financial institution playing cards.

“Following the theft, the suspects allegedly referred to as the victims, impersonating law enforcement officials or representatives of monetary establishments, to substantiate the handle and the PINs of the stolen playing cards,” the SPVM stated.

“As soon as the knowledge was confirmed, they allegedly made withdrawals from numerous banks.”
