Greater than 30 years after successful over Quebec audiences on the large display screen, La Florida is again – this time making a splash on stage at Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne from July 1 to Aug. 7.
“When you have watched the film earlier, the nostalgic a part of it […] you’re gonna prefer it. When you don’t know the film, the story is nice. It’s actually humorous,” defined Anne-Élisabeth Bossé, who performs Ginette in La Florida. “When you can’t afford trip this summer time, come see us. It’s like a bit of journey.”

Just like the 1993 award-winning cult basic, the play follows a Quebec household who purchases a motel in south Florida to flee harsh winters. However the snowbirds face native rivals – and endless renovations of Motel Ginette.
