Two men arrested after drug raids in Lachute

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) says two men, aged 39 and 36, were arrested following drug raids last week in Lachute, in the Laurentians.

Police officers from the MRC d’Argenteuil station conducted searches on Thursday at a residence and a vehicle on Sydney Street.

During the operation, police seized cannabis, methamphetamine tablets, prescription drug tablets and contraband tobacco. The suspects could face charges related to narcotics, illicit cannabis and offences under tax and tobacco legislation.

Officials say the two men are scheduled to appear at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse at a later date.

The operation was carried out following information received from the public and was conducted under the coordination of Level 1 Drugs in the Outaouais region.
