Police investigate suspected arson after vehicle set ablaze in LaSalle

Montreal police (SPVM) say a vehicle may have been deliberately set on fire in Montreal’s LaSalle borough early Friday morning.

Officials were called to the scene around 1 a.m. after reports of a vehicle on fire parked in a private driveway on Leclerc Street, near Miller Street.

Upon arrival, officers saw that the vehicle was engulfed in flames, but firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

An examination of the scene revealed the presence of an accelerant.

No injuries were reported, but the building sustained minor damage.

The vehicle was towed, and the investigation is ongoing.
